Welcome. I’m a poet from the Southern U.S. who writes both verse and prose poetry. After earning an MFA in Creative Writing, Poetry, earlier in the 21st century, I took a decade or so long hiatus from writing. As Flannery O’Connor said, “Writing is like giving birth to a piano sideways. Anyone who perseveres is either talented or nuts.” A few of the poets who have influenced my own work are Rainer Maria Rilke, Anne Sexton, and the deeply lyrical Federico García Lorca. As an imagist at heart, I continue to be in awe of the power of a strong and detailed image to illuminate the subtleties, mysteries, deformities, and trivialities of life.
